It all started with a Wine Rack...

​Owners Michael and Tammy Scalici always dreamed of owning their own business.  Michael has been a Fire Fighter for 30 years and Tammy a Dental Assistant for 29 years.  Several years ago, Michael designed and started to build hanging Wine Racks and in June of 2013 while at a craft show, Michael and Tammy met two guys who were making and selling pizzas from a wood fired pizza oven.  They immediately fell in love with the concept, but for one reason or another, timing just wasn't right.  So the following year, they did the next best thing and built an authentic Italian Wood Fired Brick Oven in their back yard and for the next 3 years they have mastered the art of baking a variety of pizzas as well as cooking other foods to perfection in the oven with natural wood heat and with a variety of different hard woods.

​After several years of encouragement by many family members and several friends and neighbors, Michael and Tammy have decided to take their love of cooking and passion of entertaining to the next level and have opened SCALICI's WOOD FIRED PIZZA in 2017.

SCALICI’s WOOD FIRED PIZZA is family owned and operated and has serviced most of SE Michigan for the past five years in their mobile kitchen.  SWFP has recently partnered with HOST Restaurant in beautiful downtown Utica, Michigan and are very excited to serve the community delicious Tuscan style wood fired pizza!
